John Allee was one of Coach Calhoun's future athletics students.
While Calhoun was being nipped at by a brindle-coat dog, he flipped a basketball to John Allee.
"Hey, basketball." He tossed the ball to John, who instinctively caught it, the sign of a potential athlete, "You caught it! How tall are you? Never mind. We'll put high heels on your sneakers and we’ll make you a center." He tossed the ball over to John, who dashed after it, "Here you are, go catch that! Oh, boy! Basketball, basketball, basketball!"
